Privacy Policy

How PressRoom collects, uses, and protects information — including data accessed through Google APIs.

Last updated

PressRoom is a brand of MEW IO LLC ("PressRoom," "we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we may collect through this website, through the tools and applications we operate, and in the course of providing SEO, marketing, analytics, and related services (together, the "Services"), how we may use and share it, and the choices you have.

This policy applies to pressroom.ai and any other site, application, tool, or communication that links to it. It does not apply to third-party sites or platforms we do not control, or to information a client holds under its own privacy policy.

By using the Services, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use them.

Information we collect

The categories below describe the kinds of information we may collect. The specific examples given are illustrative rather than exhaustive, and what we actually collect depends on how you interact with us.

Information you give us

When you submit a form on this site, we collect the information you choose to enter — for example your name, company website URL, email address, a budget range, and a message. We use it to respond to your inquiry, send you any confirmation you asked for, and prepare the analysis or proposal you requested.

If you email us, apply for a role, subscribe to something, or become a client, we also collect what you send us in that correspondence and in the course of the engagement — including business contact details, job-application materials, project requirements, account credentials or authorizations you choose to provide, billing and transaction details, and any content, data, or materials you share with us so we can do the work.

Information collected automatically

When you use the Services, we and our providers may automatically collect technical and usage information such as IP address, approximate location derived from it, browser and device type, operating system, language settings, referring and exit URLs, pages and content viewed, search terms, interaction events, unique or device identifiers, and the dates, times, and duration of those interactions. We use this to operate, secure, troubleshoot, measure, and improve the Services.

We use cookies, pixels, tags, local storage, session-replay scripts, and similar technologies for these purposes. Our current analytics and product-experience tools include:

  • Google Analytics 4 — traffic, engagement, and conversion reporting. Our Analytics property is linked to our Google Ads account, so the same tag can also set Google advertising cookies and report site activity to Google Ads.
  • Hotjar — session replay and heatmaps showing how visitors interact with pages.
  • Microsoft Clarity — interaction metrics and heatmaps.

We may add, remove, or replace analytics, advertising, and measurement providers from time to time, and will update this list when we do. These tools may record interactions such as clicks, scrolling, and mouse movement. They are configured for anonymized measurement, and we do not use them to capture the contents of form fields.

Advertising. Because our Analytics and Google Ads accounts are linked, Google and similar advertising partners may use the advertising identifiers set through this site to show PressRoom ads to people who have visited it (remarketing) and to measure which ads led to an inquiry. We do not sell personal information for money, but several US privacy laws define "sale" and "sharing" broadly enough to cover this kind of advertising, so we treat it that way and offer the opt-outs described below. This concerns visitors to our own marketing website only. It never involves data from a client's connected accounts.

Information from other sources

We may also receive information about you from sources such as our clients, your employer or colleagues, referral partners, service providers, advertising and analytics platforms, publicly available sources, business-data and enrichment providers, and social or professional networks — for example to verify details you gave us, to understand a prospective client's web presence, or to improve our records. We combine that information with what we already hold.

Information from accounts you connect

To deliver SEO, analytics, advertising, and reporting work, we connect to marketing, analytics, advertising, content, and productivity accounts that a client authorizes — most commonly Google accounts. Through those connections we access performance and configuration data about the client's own properties, campaigns, and files. Google-specific details are set out in the next section.

Google user data

We operate a Google OAuth application that our own team and authorized client personnel use internally. It is not a consumer product and is not offered to the general public. This section is deliberately specific, and we keep it current as our integrations change.

What we access, and why

We request only the scopes needed for the reporting and optimization work a client has engaged us for. Our application currently requests:

  • Google Analytics (read-only)analytics.readonly. We read traffic, engagement, and conversion reports for the properties you connect so we can measure the impact of our work. We never write to, modify, or delete anything in your Analytics account.
  • Google Adsadwords. We read campaign, keyword, and performance data to report on paid and organic interaction, and, where you have engaged us to manage campaigns, to make the changes you have approved.
  • Google Sheetsspreadsheets. We read and write the spreadsheets used as inputs and deliverables for your engagement, such as keyword sets, content calendars, and recurring performance reports.
  • Google Drive (per-file)drive.file. This scope grants access only to files our application creates and files you specifically open with it. It does not give us access to the rest of your Drive.
  • Account identity — the email address and basic profile of the Google account used to authorize the connection, so we can show which account is linked and revoke it correctly later.

If we request additional scopes in the future, we will update this section and, where the scope requires it, obtain your consent again through Google's authorization screen.

Limited Use

PressRoom's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Specifically:

  • We use Google user data only to provide and improve the SEO, analytics, advertising, and reporting services you requested.
  • We do not transfer Google user data to third parties except as necessary to provide those services, to comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger or acquisition with notice to you.
  • We do not use Google user data for advertising, and we do not sell it.
  • We do not allow humans to read Google user data unless we have your explicit consent for a specific request, it is necessary for security purposes or to comply with applicable law, or the data has been aggregated and anonymized for internal reporting. In practice, the people who work with your data are the members of our team assigned to your engagement.
  • We do not use Google user data to develop, improve, or train generalized AI or machine learning models. Where our work uses AI tooling, it is applied to your data for your engagement only, and your data is not used to train third-party models.

The Limited Use commitments in this section govern Google user data and take precedence over any more general statement elsewhere in this policy.

Revoking access

You can disconnect our application at any time from your Google Account's security settings, or by asking us to revoke it. Revoking access stops all future data retrieval immediately, and may prevent us from continuing parts of an engagement.

How we use information

We may use the information we collect for purposes including:

  • Responding to inquiries and delivering the analysis, proposal, or materials you request.
  • Providing, performing, personalizing, and improving the Services and our engagements.
  • Producing reports, audits, dashboards, forecasts, and recommendations.
  • Sending transactional and service messages — confirmations, deliverables, reports, and notices about changes to the Services or to this policy.
  • Sending business marketing to professional contacts about our services, where permitted, with an unsubscribe link in every such message.
  • Operating, securing, monitoring, debugging, testing, and improving our sites, tools, and infrastructure, and preventing fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.
  • Conducting internal research and analysis to develop new and improved services, features, and methods.
  • Establishing, exercising, and defending legal claims, enforcing our agreements, and meeting legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, and audit obligations.
  • Any other purpose you consent to or that is compatible with, and reasonably necessary for, the purposes described above.

Aggregated and de-identified information. We may create aggregated, anonymized, or de-identified information from the data we hold and use and disclose it for any lawful purpose, including benchmarking, research, and describing our results — provided it cannot reasonably be used to identify you. We maintain such information in de-identified form and do not attempt to re-identify it. This paragraph does not apply to Google user data, which remains subject to the Limited Use commitments above.

How we share information

We do not sell personal information for money. We may disclose information in these circumstances:

  • Service providers and subprocessors who perform functions on our behalf — hosting and infrastructure, email delivery, analytics and measurement, advertising, storage and collaboration, payments and billing, customer support, and security — and who are permitted to use it only to provide those services to us. Our current providers include Vercel (hosting), Twilio SendGrid (email delivery), Google (analytics, advertising, and the workspace tools described above), Hotjar, and Microsoft Clarity.
  • Advertising and measurement partners, as described under Advertising above.
  • Affiliates and related entities, including other brands operated by MEW IO LLC, for the purposes described in this policy.
  • Professional advisers — lawyers, accountants, auditors, insurers, and bankers — under duties of confidentiality.
  • Clients and their authorized personnel, where the information relates to that client's engagement, accounts, or properties.
  • Corporate transactions — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of all or part of our business or assets, including during diligence, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.
  • Legal and safety — when we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law, regulation, subpoena, court order, or other legal process, or is necessary to protect the rights, property, safety, or security of PressRoom, our clients, or others, or to investigate suspected fraud or misuse.
  • With your direction or consent, including anyone you ask us to share with.

Cookies and your choices

This site uses cookies and similar technologies for essential functionality, for the analytics described above, and for advertising. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; essential parts of the site will still work, though some features may not.

To opt out specifically:

  • Google Analytics — Google's browser opt-out add-on, which works across all sites.
  • Google advertising and remarketing — your Google Ads settings.
  • Hotjar — its do-not-track page.
  • Marketing email — the unsubscribe link in any marketing message, or by emailing us. We will still send transactional messages about an active engagement.

We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as opt-out requests where applicable law requires it. Because there is no common standard for browser "Do Not Track" headers, we do not respond to them separately. You can also email us to opt out.

Data retention

We keep information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy — including to provide the Services, maintain business records, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and comply with legal, tax, accounting, and audit obligations — after which we delete it or de-identify it. Retention periods vary by the type of information, the nature of the engagement, and the legal requirements that apply. Analytics data follows each provider's retention settings. Data accessed through connected accounts is retained only as long as needed for active reporting, and is deleted on request or when the engagement ends, subject to backups and legal-hold obligations.

Security

We protect information with measures appropriate to its sensitivity, including access controls, encryption in transit, least-privilege credentials, and secrets kept out of source control. OAuth tokens are stored encrypted and are revocable at any time. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your own credentials, devices, and accounts secure, and for the accuracy of what you send us.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to request its correction or deletion, to opt out of its sale (we do not sell for money) or sharing (the advertising described above — see the opt-outs in the previous section), to limit the use of sensitive personal information, to data portability, to withdraw consent, and to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. Residents of California (CCPA/CPRA), other US states with comparable laws, and individuals in the EEA and UK (GDPR) are covered.

Where GDPR applies, we rely on these legal bases: consent (analytics and advertising cookies, marketing email), contract (delivering services you have engaged us for), legitimate interests (site security, responding to inquiries, business marketing, improving and developing our services, and defending legal claims), and legal obligation.

To exercise any right, email hello@pressroom.ai with "Privacy request" in the subject line. We will take reasonable steps to verify your identity and authority before acting, and will respond within the time your jurisdiction requires — within 45 days for California residents, and within one month under GDPR, in each case subject to any extension the law allows. Some requests may be limited or refused where an exception applies, for example where the information is needed to complete a transaction, to comply with a legal obligation, to defend legal claims, or where it belongs to a client rather than to us — in which case we will direct you to that client. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with written proof of authority, and we may also ask you to confirm it directly.

International transfers

We operate from the United States, and our providers may process information in the United States and other countries whose data-protection laws differ from those where you live. Where we transfer personal data from the EEA or UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. By using the Services, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in those countries.

Children's privacy

The Services are intended for businesses and professional users and are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.

Third-party sites and services

The Services link to and interoperate with sites, platforms, and tools we do not control. This policy does not apply to them, and we are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices. Review their policies before providing information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, our providers, or the law. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version, and the updated policy takes effect when posted. Where a change is material, we will take reasonable steps to bring it to your attention, and where the law requires it we will seek your consent. Your continued use of the Services after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
